Transform your leftover pasta into a cozy, brand-new meal with this simple, budget-friendly bake.

  • 2 cups leftover cooked spaghetti with sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the leftover spaghetti, egg, and milk. Mix gently until the ingredients are incorporated.
  3. Press the spaghetti mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and dried oregano.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the spaghetti layer.
  6. Scatter the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese layer. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the bake rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • If your leftover spaghetti is very dry, add one tablespoon of water or broth before mixing with the egg.
  • This recipe works well with any type of leftover pasta sauce, including meat or vegetable sauces.
  • For extra flavor, mix a teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning into the breadcrumb topping.
