Recreate restaurant-quality Texas Roadhouse flavor at home with this simple baked salmon recipe. It delivers a sweet and savory glaze, resulting in moist, flaky fillets perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This helps the seasoning adhere and promotes better texture.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Prepare the glaze: In another small bowl, whisk together the honey, melted butter, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, and cayenne pepper, if using.
  6. Spoon the sweet and savory glaze evenly over the top of each seasoned salmon fillet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. For crispier edges, you can briefly broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve immediately. This is a perfect quick fish recipe for an easy salmon dinner.

Notes

  • For a crispier skin finish, place the salmon skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before baking.
  • If you prefer a lemon herb salmon flavor, substitute the cayenne pepper with 1 teaspoon of dried dill and the zest of half a lemon in the glaze.
  • This recipe is excellent for meal prep; store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
