Ingredients
Scale
12 ounces high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon light corn syrup (for shine and smoothness)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Prepare your dippers first. Arrange fruits, marshmallows, cake pieces, and cookies on serving plates or a fondue board.
Place the chocolate chips and heavy cream into a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan.
Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate is almost completely melted. Do not let it boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the corn syrup and vanilla extract until the chocolate fondue is completely smooth and velvety.
Pour the chocolate fondue into a pre-warmed fondue pot or small slow cooker set to low.
Serve immediately with your prepared dippers.
Notes
For a richer flavor, substitute half of the semi-sweet chocolate with dark chocolate.
If the fondue becomes too thick while serving, stir in one teaspoon of warm heavy cream at a time until the desired consistency returns.
This recipe works well in a small Crock Pot set to the ‘Keep Warm’ setting after the initial melting on low.
