Make this rich, tangy, and creamy blue cheese dip in minutes. It is the perfect cold chip dip for gatherings, wings, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the crumbled blue cheese into a medium bowl.
  2. Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use a fork or a hand mixer to combine the ingredients until the dip is smooth and creamy. Do not overmix; some small chunks of cheese are desirable for texture.
  4. Taste the dip and add more black pepper or a small pinch of salt if needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the blue cheese dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve cold with chicken wings, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or your favorite crackers.

Notes

  • For a thicker dip suitable for spreading, reduce the mayonnaise slightly.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency, similar to a salad dressing, add one tablespoon of buttermilk or whole milk until you reach your desired texture.
  • This dip is excellent as a Wingstop blue cheese copycat sauce for hot wings.
