Make this quick, creamy dill dip using Greek yogurt for a lighter, fresh appetizer perfect for parties or snacking with vegetables and chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended for creaminess)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for tang)

Instructions

  1. Measure the Greek yogurt and sour cream into a medium bowl.
  2. Add the fresh dill, dried onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  3. If using, add the lemon juice.
  4. Stir all ingredients together until the dip is completely smooth and the dill is evenly distributed.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust salt or pepper as needed.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the dill dip for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve your homemade dill dip cold with fresh vegetables, pita chips, or crackers.

Notes

  • For a richer, more traditional flavor, substitute the Greek yogurt with an equal amount of full-fat cream cheese (softened) or sour cream.
  • If you do not have fresh dill, you can use 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed, but fresh dill provides a brighter flavor.
  • This dip is excellent made ahead of time; it tastes best after chilling for 1 to 4 hours.
  • Thin this mixture slightly with a tablespoon of water or milk if you wish to use it as a salad dressing.
