Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, plus more for topping
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound lump crab meat, picked over for shells
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8-inch pie plate or small baking dish.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix until the base is smooth.
Stir in the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
Gently fold in the lump crab meat and the optional fresh chives. Mix just enough to distribute the crab without breaking up the lumps too much.
Transfer the crab mixture to your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle a light dusting of extra Old Bay seasoning over the top.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the top is lightly golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
Let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or vegetable sticks.
Notes
For the best flavor, use real lump crab meat. If you need a quicker version, you can use imitation crab, but the flavor will change.
You can assemble this entire crab dip recipe ahead of time. Cover the dish and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Add about 5 to 10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.
This hot crab dip is excellent served in a small slow cooker on the ‘warm’ setting for extended parties.
