Make these easy Cheeseburger Egg Rolls filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheddar cheese. They are perfect as a party snack or game day appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 24 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying (or cooking spray for air fryer)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is fully browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Return the beef mixture to the skillet. Stir in the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and ketchup. Cook for one minute, stirring to combine the flavors. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  3. Once cooled, stir the shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture until evenly distributed. This is your cheeseburger egg roll filling.
  4. Set up your rolling station: place the egg roll wrappers on a clean surface, keep the beaten egg in a small bowl, and have the cooled filling ready.
  5. Place about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of filling near one corner of an egg roll wrapper. Do not overfill.
  6. Fold the corner of the wrapper over the filling. Fold in the two side corners toward the center.
  7. Roll the wrapper tightly away from you until you reach the opposite corner. Brush the final edge with the beaten egg to seal the roll closed. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
  8. To fry: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350 degrees F. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  9. To air fry: Lightly spray the assembled egg rolls with cooking spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 380 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
  10. Serve your crispy cheeseburger egg rolls immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For the best dipping sauce for egg rolls, mix equal parts ketchup and mayonnaise, then add a dash of pickle relish and a splash of vinegar.
  • If you prefer a less traditional flavor, skip the ketchup and mustard in the filling and add 1/4 cup of finely chopped dill pickles instead.
  • You can prepare the filling a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
