Make this easy air fryer gnocchi recipe for a snack or side dish that is crispy on the outside and soft inside. It uses minimal oil and comes together quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shelf-stable or refrigerated gnocchi
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the gnocchi in a medium bowl. If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw them first.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the gnocchi and toss gently to coat them evenly.
  3. Add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Toss again until the seasonings stick to the gnocchi.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  5. Place the seasoned gnocchi in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; work in batches if necessary to ensure crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 10 to 14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the gnocchi are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the cooked gnocchi from the air fryer. Immediately transfer them to a clean bowl.
  8. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian herbs over the hot gnocchi. Toss quickly so the cheese melts slightly onto the warm pieces.
  9. Serve immediately as a quick weeknight dinner side or easy air fryer snack.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, toss the finished gnocchi with a teaspoon of melted butter or a drizzle of pesto sauce.
  • If you prefer a softer exterior, reduce the cooking time by 2 minutes.
  • This recipe works well as a gnocchi salad topper for added texture.
